Adam Bhatia is a trumpet player based in the Los Angeles area. He has won first prize in numerous international competitions including the National Trumpet Competition, International Trumpet Guild Competition, Pasadena Showcase for the Arts Competition, Diablo Symphony Brass Competition, the prestigious Yamaha Young Performing Artist Award, and was runner-up for the Armando Ghitalla Award. Mr. Bhatia has served as the Principal Trumpet for the YMF Debut Orchestra since 2002, as well La Orquesta de Baja California, and is a member of the American Youth Symphony. Furthermore, Mr. Bhatia was nominated for the celebrated Avery Fisher Career Grant in 2006. His playing has lead to many exciting experiences, from playing the Jeopardy theme solo with Merv Griffin on stage to performing “Hail to the Chief” for President Bush. As a soloist, he has been featured with the Diablo Symphony, at the NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA, at the Yamaha Original Concert series, on CBC radio out of Toronto, and as the National Anthem soloist for over 35,000 people at Edison Field. Mr. Bhatia holds B.A. and M.M. degrees in Trumpet Performance from UCLA where he studied with Jens Lindemann. Apart from an active freelance career, Adam maintains a large private studio of trumpet students. Outside of music, Mr. Bhatia is an aspiring competitive golfer, and avid car enthusiast, dropping quarters every week into his Ferrari fund.
